PERTHSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Welcome to my website! You pronounce my name mah-ree-kah: Marieke. I am a wedding and event photographer based in Perthshire, Scotland. I'm originally from The Netherlands, but Scotland has been my home since 2001 and I absolutely love it here. My husband Ewan and I have two wonderful children aged 13 and 16. When I'm not out photographing I love tending to our Himalayan woodland garden. You will also find me out walking, and I am a keen scout: currently a scout leader in Aberfeldy. 

My background is in written journalism and I still provide magazines with features, but in 2006 I decided to retrain as a photographer at Edinburgh's Telford College. I now take more photos than I write articles! Magazines and newspapers still send work my way, but I also love capturing people's wedding days. My wedding photography style tends to be reportage, creating an exciting overview of the day without trying to pose too many pictures. 

I love being out and about, and it's brilliant if children and animals are involved. I capture moments as they happen without trying to stage too much.
